In May 2015 we presented a festival of visual arts. A celebration of where we live and the way we live, drawing upon the things that make this part of the world special, unique and interesting. The spaces and places of Ellesmere, North Shropshire, and the Meres and Mosses region reflected in an interesting variety of forms of visual art to include paintings, sculpture, photography, fabric sculpture and video installation. At the end of the Hall we had our Community Postcard Installation where we had asked local school children and adults in the community what was special about where they lived, this was the result.
And in the side hall we presented something special. A darkened room filled with birdsong and a sellotape sculpture installation. Here are a selection of images from the weekend…
We created a Geocache Trail as part of the Visual Arts Weekend, a Mere’s and Mosses Treasure Hunt to get people out onto the Mosses and explore, soak up the landscape.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who gave their time and helped make this event happen.
Finally, a huge thank you to The Mere’s and Mosses Partnership Trust for funding this event and sharing our passion for this wonderful area.
