This years Winter Festival was held on Friday, 24th November. The theme for 2023 was outer space. We held Community Lantern Workshops before the event and many families came to make their own starry lanterns to carry in the procession.
Father Christmas arrived at The Wharf, as has become traditional, by narrowboat. He climbed aboard his rocket to fly throught the streets of Ellesmere to his groto in the Market Hall. He was attended by Guides dressed as aliens, a flying saucer and sputniks. The Brownies made the aliens who travelled on the flying saucer, to escort Father Christmas.
The Community turned out in force to join in the revelry, enjoying the music provided by the Fizzjigs band.
