Due to adverse weather conditions and high winds the theatre performance of George and the Dragon was postponed from the Saturday to Sunday August 11th, 2019, where it provided a fantastical finale to the Ellesmere Summer Festival. A procession left the Wharf at Tescos and paraded along the canal to Rodneys Field where the theatre production took place. Take a look at the photos below to follow the story of George, his page and his horse…..of course….who fought the now friendly dragon, thus freeing the townsfolk from their fear and winning the hand of Kate, the baron’s daughter in return. Oh, and not forgetting the help of Super Chicken fired at the dragon from the trebochet!
